There's nothing that can be done on the gtk-sni-tray side.

@NickHu ping. Actually I just realized that this was partly about ayatana compatibility. Is that still an issue? If not can we close this?

The underlying cause of this is that xmonad does not actually call the log hook until windows are created.

Hmmm above theory seems to be incorrect. Seems like the no workspace is being selected as active when no windows are open.
