orderCells() taking too long for 1600 cells

Hi,

I am using Monocle2 at the moment for a single cell RNA seq datatset having 1600 cells and orderCells() is taking too long (I terminated the first run after 50 hours). I wonder if this is quite normal or is there a way to run it efficiently?

Please let me know. I am afraid I can't switch to Monocle3 due to compatibility issues with other packages I am following.
