FYI - Bitaverage is down for this api connection ... What other sources do you recommend ?

Same here, does the request URL to bitaverage https://api.bitcoinaverage.com/ticker/global/USD/ should be replaced by any of this two below in order to get the average number at this lines here? https://github.com/coinables/Bitfinex-API-PHP/blob/features/example.php#L12-L13
