New CBC release upcoming?
Hello @jjhforrest and other maintainers,
I am leading the Open Energy Benchmark project (website, repository) and we are planning to run our updated benchmark set on the latest version of our solvers, which includes CBC, this week. I notice that the last release was 2.10.12 in Aug 2024, and was wondering if you were planning to, or could make a, new release? Our benchmarking scripts obtain the latest version of each solver from conda-forge.
Our last benchmark run identified a few issues in CBC (https://github.com/coin-or/Cbc/issues/716, https://github.com/coin-or/Cbc/issues/717), which have been fixed (thank you for the quick resolutions!). It would be great to have a new release including these fixes that showcases CBC's latest capabilities.

I can probably make a new release 2.10.13 from stable/2.10, but this requires making new releases of all dependencies in the stack and then those have to propagate to conda-forge, where I have to make another set of releases for the whole stack. So it's not a very quick thing. What we are more focused on at the moment is making a new stable 3.0 from what is currently in master. We are actively working on that but it probably won't happen until after the holidays.
@tkralphs Thank you for the quick feedback. I understand that it's not easy and you have other priorities. If you can manage a conda release in the next few days, let me know and I'll wait for the release before benchmarking. Else, I'll excitedly await your 3.0 release and we will benchmark it in June next year!
