GPU switches even if "only integrated" is set

That leads imo to frequent system crashes on MacBookPro 15", 2010, OS 10.13.6

Same issue with Macbook Pro 2010 and NVIDIA GE 330M. With Integrated only set (to try to avoid Kernel Panics), when I quit PowerPoint or Zoom, it switches to Discrete Graphics notwithstanding and resets the option to Discrete Only. Went to look for NVIDIA controller on their site and for Mac there are only versions for Leopard 10.5.7 and SnowLeopard 10.6.8 (they are in the "Older Drivers" section, yes I suppose I am an older driver) whereas I am on 10.13.6 so these won't load. I was going to try to disable these apps from changing the graphics. I understand that replacing capacitor C9560 might also stop the panics but life is a bit too short...

It is, in fact, wierder still. If I start in Integrated only, OPENING powerpoint DOES NOT switch it to discrete but closing powerpoint DOES - and changes the setting to discrete only. If I start in dynamic only mode, it DOES switch to d when I open powerpoint and back to i when I quit. This last does beg the question why powerpoint thinks it needs discrete graphics. Meanwhile, I have removed Zoom and switched its daemon in startup off and haven't had a panic since.
