Kill process through the menu

Open gordalina opened this issue 11 years ago • 7 comments

Hi,

I find myself having to kill processes manually that require the dedicated graphics card only to have the OS switch the card.

I would propose that processes could be clickable which would send a SIGTERM and if the alt key was pressed when opening the menu a SIGKILL would be sent.

Let me know what you think.

PS: I would provide a patch, but I've never worked on an OSX app before.

I've wanted to do something like this for a long time.

Is there any progress on this? Or perhaps a binary somewhere while it's being reviewed? :)

This feature would be great.. if not, Cody could you detail how to get a list of PID's out of Gfxcardstatus? I'll just write a bash script to kill all the PID's listed.

I just came here to open a request for this.Nice to see I'm not the only one who wants it.

I'd appreciate the "kill process" feature in the gfxCardStatus menu. I see that there were already some developments efforts. But in the current v2.3 GUI I don't see any KILL button, and also not as an option in the preferences. Is there a way to enable feature?

+1 - this would be a major improvement. Can we get this through?

Would be nice to have, or at least does anyone know how to get pids that "requires high perf gpu" in shell?
