Emailed issues don't use language prefs
In email that I received, containing list of issues, the project is in a programming language (c#) that I did not checkmark in my profile. I think this should be a bug rather than a feature. As it stands it is too likely that the issue received will not be of interest since there are 50 Lang's but only 5'ish that interest me so basically 90% chance of irrelevant issues mentioned in email.
Language preferences don't currently really do anything. All it does is default the repos you see on the homepage.
You'll only get issues to repos that you subscribe to. If you're getting a issue for a repo that you don't think you subscribed to, let me know what repo and I can take a look.
Would it be reasonable to send issues from repos based on user language preferences?
I just received an email from codetriage that was sent using the method poke_inactive and the options are from languages that i don't usually write (like C# for example). I was thinking that my first contribution to OSS could be improving these emails. 😃

I would love that. We could also add “pick your favorite language(s) as an after signup wizard step with wicked (though that’s not required).
Sounds good! I'll start working on the email issue this weekend.
Regarding the signup wizard, I’ll open a followup issue so we can track/discuss about that feature there. I’d love to take it after finishing this one (but if anybody would like to do it, it would be great too).
