No PVR clients on Mx2 openelec 6.0

Hello @codesnake Thanks for your great work. I've just flashed openelec 6.0 on mx2 box. Everything works fine except no PVR clients to enable, the whole category is missing. Thanks

Hi hawwach, could you please tell me how did you flashed the new version (6.0) on mx2 ? Since I have the same device, I already flashed the version that gbox gave us for installing openelec and using that one I updated it with the old version provided here (5.0) but now, I have no write access to the .update folder for doing the update. ... So, I have two ideas:

  1. Install the old openelect gbox version (4.X) and then update it with this new one (6.0)
  2. Modify the files provided in the zip files provided by gbox adding to it the new version 6.0, but I think that this is not going to work since there is some validation of the files. Could you please enlighten me ? Thanks! Fede

@Fedecarpi Hi, I was running 5.0.3 openelec on my mx2, I've flashed the new one from recovery, using SD card and toothpick method thus not updated the existing one. Now I have access to update folder on the 6.0 but my problem is that I can't enable any PVR client, it has totally disappeared.

@hawwach Take a look to the news on openelec page -> http://openelec.tv/news/22-releases/172-release-openelec-6-0-released, it seems that they removed the PVR client. However, you can install it from some repo.

@hawwach btw, about using the toothpick method, did you flash directly the zip file downloaded from here ?

fedecarpi avatar Nov 20 '15 19:11 fedecarpi

@Fedecarpi, extract the downloaded zip and move the 3 extracted files to the SD

@hawwach got it! thank you! I thought the content of the files was the same but actually it was different! ... installing it right now.

@hawwach It is a bug in 6.0. It uses wrong URL for OE repository, which allows to install you required PVR clients and other addons. This is already fixed. New build will be released shortly.

Thanks @codesnake

Just wondering if the bug has been fixed or if I built my openelec-6.0 for mx2 wrong. Still not getting the pvr plugin as options.

The fix will be included in next release.

@fedecarpi you write the missing PVR Clients still in some other repos... I find no other repos which have any :(
