run-as not passing

Everything is passing except last line

adb shell 'echo /data/local/tmp/rootme/nefarious.sh | run-as' It fails with message:

"Usage: run-as <package-name> <command> [<args>]"

Installed latest Android developer tools on macOS 10.13.2

Isn't the one click solely available for Windows? I'm only seeing an exe. Is there any equivalent tool for macOS or linux?
