Describe the bug The video player that is working from week 13 for web dev cohort 3.0 has multiple issues that severely affect usability and viewing experience. It introduces several bugs and regressions compared to the older player. To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior: Open any video Try actions like play, pause, resume, seek, or switch devices Observe various problems with responsiveness, playback state, and UI behavior
Expected behavior A clear and concise description of what you expected to happen. The video player should: Properly remember playback position (resume from where left off) Respond immediately to play/pause actions Have clear and visible controls (no unwanted transparency) Work reliably on all screen sizes, including mobile Be consistent in behavior and not introduce uncertainty during interactions
Observed Issues
Play/Pause delay or unresponsiveness Transparency issues: player controls hard to see or interact with Poor responsiveness, especially on mobile or smaller screens Resume functionality is missing (does not remember last watched position) UI glitches and unpredictable behavior Overall, the user experience is worse than the previous player
Additional context Please consider reverting to the older video player or at least offering a setting to switch back. The previous player was far more stable, responsive, and user-friendly.
