Nice project, It would be great if there was an example project with different topics already implemented, just to get a better idea how it works.

There is an example project mentioned in the Readme: https://github.com/code-iai/ROSIntegrationVision/ Additionally at the bottom of the Readme in the section "Implementing New Message Types" you find a description of how to do this. But sure an example project of doing this would make it even easier, you are right.
