🐞volume slider always at max when using custom volume output

Open Saxombie opened this issue 8 months ago • 3 comments

Concise Description

Im using Volume at 280 for compensate over low volume music videos ("Forced Volume" setting).. so i put the video volume slider on half at start to prevent huge volume output if video has high volume.

Problem: every time i start a new video the volume slider goes to max automatically.

It seems that the custom "Forced" volume control on this extension its not working independently of the videos volume slider, so if i put it beyond of 100% then it always puts the slider to the max..

It shouldnt work that way. I dont know if its a bug or what. But it shouldn't.

If you set your video volume slider on half then next time you open a new video it should remain on that position, no matter what is your custom volume level on this extension.

Could this be assigned to me? New to github and just posed a fix in the above pull request

Hi! and thanks @s-aahmedramlan @Saxombie and sorry for the delay!

it's not a bug since it literally meant static, fixed, locked volume (started with 0%-100% only even). So we should keep this legacy since thats what some people expect or got used to now.

What you think of is a relative audio booster. This makes a new toggle to add to our menue, with a new name.
We can show it in a more prominent position in the menu too, maybe above the existing feature.

I planned and pondered about this before: Volume Boost: Adding a little red area to youtube's slider (please check)

(You might also be interested in volume normalization. And maybe in (slightly) adjusted volume by Youtube content category, such as music or education? We have a feature (speed) considering category already)

Thanks. Then i hope a booster gets added in the future.
