I am also currently experiencing this exact issue on Firefox on some channels. It hangs when switching to the video tab on a channel page. I can either wait to receive the message from Firefox and the page will close or if I copy the url quick, close the tab, and paste the url back into a new tab the page opens fine.

I'm not sure what is actually causing this leak but 90% of the time when I click on the video tab it begins to hang and will consume all of your ram and crash, if you were to let it.

I have a video of the problem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2JhORymrso

And I have the .json file that corresponds with my Improve YouTube settings. improvedtube.json

The video shows that whenever I click on a "videos" tab the memory leak happens but when I disable "Improve YouTube" the tab displays correctly.

I have tested it and confirmed the same results while using: Windows 10 and Windows 11 Firefox 129-133 (both x86 and x64 versions) AddOn version: 4.1185, it was also in at least several older versions.

I have not tested the issue with Chrome.

It has been going on for a few months now but i just avoided clicking the videos tab and putting off writing a bug report.

I hope someone is able to make more out of this than me.

I've found out that whenever is a blocklist enabled, it causes this behaviour. It does NOT matter if there are any entries in the blocklist at all. I.e. even if the channels/videos lists are empty it will still cause a crash as long as the blocklist feature is activated.

Yep, something about the blocklist continues to loop when loading a new category, videos/playlist/shorts/ect, on a creator's homepage. The solution is just to not have the blocklist enabled. What browser are you using, btw? I wonder because I don't know if it also effects Chrome.
