feature request
⚬ PROBLEM: hi, i don't know if this is a feature already and i just missed it but i find it quite annoying when i go back in a page while a video is playing and it automatically turns to PIP. i would prefer if it just didn't play at all when i go back in the page or something. that's probably my least favorite thing about youtube :/
⚬ SOLUTION: something that would make the video not play at all when i go back to the previous page in the tab and that makes it stay in the page im exiting, not automatically enabling PIP
⚬ ALTERNATIVES: i can't think of an alternative, i guess it's just choosing when videos turn to PIP or not
⚬ RELEVANCE / SCOPE: probably! there are probably tons of people who are also annoyed by this. at least i know of some of my friends are and improvedtube is already extremely customizable so if it does not already exist (because i might have missed it) then it would not hurt to add another cool feature to make it even more customizable
⚬ "SIDE EFFECTS": i'm not sure if it would conflict with other things but maybe it's less likely for this to happen since each person customizes improvedtube as they wish to :)
⚬ CONTEXT: leaving this blank, not sure what else to add // Thank you!
| SHORT Table | (Summary) |
|---|---|
| Problem | automatic PIP when going back on a page |
| Solution | making it possible to disable automatic PIP for this specific action |
| Alternatives | not sure |
| Scope | it's probably annoying for others too and improvedtube is extremely customizable so 1 more feature won't hurt |
| Side effects | not sure, but probably not many since the extension can be customized to every person's preference |
| Context | not sure |
hi and thanks @loonateen
that's probably my least favorite thing about youtube
me too, or more specifically the one i run into the most yet.
as a solutions, we can right-click the element the next time ("inspect" (or easier: "block" with uBlockOrigion) to get a css selector and or copy the whole element and or xpath
(you can also try our feature player: custom miniplayer (when scrolling down), just because if i remember correctly, the developer of it had to adjust it because of Youtube's. (It has been around since before Youtube's)
