Don't autoplay/unpause when I'm in the tab. / Don't autoplay. Ever.
⚬ PROBLEM:
When switching back to a YouTube tab, the previously paused video continues to play automatically. This seems to be a long-standing YouTube "feature", but it only recently started torturing me with it. It's annoying and I hate it. (It's a very hateable feature, alright?)
⚬ SOLUTION:
I'm looking for some way to just disable autoplay completely - except when it concerns any kind of playlist. YouTube should never autoplay single videos, and it should never automatically unpause, ever. I think autoplay is only good for playlists (including the temporary ones), but nothing else. If you could implement that in some (cleverly optional) way, I think that could be a helpful thing.
⚬ ALTERNATIVES:
Chainsaw? Angle grinder? Prince Albert? (Gemini has not been helpful in this matter either.)
⚬ RELEVANCE / SCOPE:
I'd reckon that someone who dislikes autoplay also dislikes autoplay when switching between tabs. I haven't found a reliable solution to this, but maybe I'm not the only one who's annoyed by it?
⚬ "SIDE EFFECTS":
None. Obviously, like everything else, this should be optional. A kind of "master switch" to turn off autoplay/auto-unpause, with an (also optional) exception for playlists.

so you didn't enable our feature "pause while i'm not in the tab"? (will unpause only when it was playing while leaving the tab)

BTW, did you also notice by chance :D any difference with tabs or autoplay by our Manifest3 update December 2022 ?
Solution: Turn off the auto play in extension, and u need accept that sopmetimes fiurst seconds of a video are going to play, cause page is loading and video is first thing to play on there even before extension can load... so u need to wait a little before turning in new tab. Hopefully i helped ^^
