Adblock Detection on YouTube
Bug Report:
⚬ BUG: YouTube adblock detection slows down the site in 2024. ⚬ HOW: Enable the ad blocking then try to use YouTube. Behavior returns to normal after disabling adblock.

My @ImprovedTube guy.. Its not on our side, its on youtube side. Youtube is fighting ad-blockers with slowing down the bufforing. And its only working if YT detects ENABLED ADBLOCKERS ONLY, not installed. In addition, i can suggest adding option to speed up(to max estension is letting us so 16x) ads and skiping automatically when possible. What do you think? ^^
hi @Anoaxx, cant be sure if @pleappleappleap noticed a new change /consistent reaction to enabling our ad block feature? - In that case we could change it already. (Many people might have it enabled without it even working. )

by experience? another extension doing that with muted sound? idk what will be the difference (in YouTube's analysis. they shouldnt bill advertisers for that as much) 16x is the browser max. afaik.
@ImprovedTube Indeed, this behavior is not specific to your adblock function. Youtube is now exhibiting this behavior with all adblock plugins on Chrome.

I don't see the place to configure speeding up only ads. @Anoaxx, could you please point me at that configuration option? That would help while I'm waiting for the adblock support to work.
its an extension for chrome/opera etc but here i was just talking about maybe adding it in a future
adblocking should be removed from ImproveTube entirely, it only risks extension being deleted by google, and YT is currently fighting adblocks making changes daily so there is no chance keeping up. uBlock does daily updates just to make it work.
