"Always show progress bar" doesn't work
Bug Report:
⚬ BUG: "Always show progress bar" option doesn't work with "Hide player controls bar" enabled ⚬ HOW:
- enable "Always show progress bar"
- set "Hide player controls bar" to "When paused" or "Always"
- open some YT page and click pause/play
Result: progress bar disappears.
⚬ Screenshots: YT page console after refreshing the page: https://i.imgur.com/v1bGJuH.png ⚬ Context: No matter if I refresh the page, if it's playlist or YT opened in another tab, it doesn't work, also doesn't work on fullscreen. In previous versions it worked but only sometimes.
⚬ ImprovedTube Version: 4.1077 ⚬ Browser: Vivaldi 6.9.3405.3 (chromium 126) ⚬ OS: Windows 11 ⚬ Device: PC
I would like to take a look at it
@xeophyte did you try to work with latest vivaldi stable cahnnel ? 6.5.3206.55 (Stable channel) no issues found for me
No, I use latest snapshots.
@xeophyte I managed to recreate the issue and now debugging it, @ImprovedTube there are multiple issues in json files preventing to load the project in devTools. I will create a PR soon with fixes to these json files prior to trying to fix the progressBar issue
Thanks.
@xeophyte this option works fine, its just not the progress bar you might have been expecting. Look at the bottom of video - there is a thin Red line progressing.

what issues in what json files? devtools works perfectly fine
Ok, I found a possible connection to this problem. The progress bar disappears when another video is started on another tab (with "Pause while I watch a 2nd video" enabled) or when I click somewhere on the progress bar or when I click pause/play.
cant reproduce, wont be able to help :( works fine in Vivaldi | 6.6.3271.44
Try backup and reinstall method. Idk why sometimes options stops working. But reinstal usually works 🤷
I reset the settings, uninstalled the extension, cleared the extension cache, installed again without importing my settings and still got this. Do you have "Hide player controls bar" set to "When paused" or "Always"? I have this bug with this. When it's set to "Off", there is no problem.
In 4.941 still doesn't work. First post edited for better description.

Thanks! BTW @xeophyte. Did someone see this outside of Vivaldi?
Did someone see this outside of Vivaldi?
No, because I didn't think it could be related to the browser itself. I could write about it on the Vivaldi forum, but I would probably get an answer that it was the extension's fault.
I can confirm that. (Firefox 136)
