Disable infinite scroll

Has anyone attempted to convert infinite scroll to paging at least in the playlists? Is it even possible using an extension? I wouldn't mind attempting the implementation myself, but wouldn't want to end up in a dead end as another developer. I didn't find anything related to this in the issues.
