Yes, to make sure it wasn't a problem with the entities I removed and re-added the Yamaha integration. The entities work fine themselves in automations.

Is there any information about the entities I can provide to help troubleshoot?

He's the maintainer. He's hasn't spoken in the issue. It's been open for coming up on two years. I think it's warranted.
