Any plans to support Linux anytime soon?

Hi, I'm wondering if cocos2d have any support plan for Linux in future. Linux is growing more powerful each day, it's good platform to code after macOS. And many teams are using it for software development now.

From what I know it's been EOL'd long time ago. Perhaps Cocos Creator? But I can't find it for Linux...

@UltraBurstXD Cocos2d-x works on Linux.

Cocos Studio is EOL'd and will not be brought back to life.

Cocos Creator doesn't work on Linux and there are no plans for this to happen.

Yes, cocos2d-x "works" on Linux.

Even on the most popular distro (Ubuntu 20.04 LTS) there is linking errors in the building of cocos2d-x. There is an open issue from 2020 in this git repo about this linking error and it hasn't fixed yet! Linux is not considered as popular development platform by cocos devs. But why? Yes, Linux takes 1-2% of users overall, but 30-50% of programmers.

Sorry for my bad English.

There aren't any plans to embrace Linux to the level that you are talking about. Developers seem to be targeting mobile platforms along with Mac, Windows, Steam, etc. I don't usually see developers releasing games specifically for Linux in our community.

Maybe not FOR Linux, but ON Linux

Perhaps. For now, I don't see additional support being added.
