I think this issue is out of date now and is superceded by #1358? The same methodology for FTS can be used for vector index too via a LanceDB AsyncTable. cc @badmonster0 @georgeh0

Not really. This issue is still valid. It's about vector index method customization. Currently we only support HnswPq
