Restore State across reboot/boot doesn't work

Open aindriu80 opened this issue 2 years ago • 3 comments

Hi,

I am using two Linux machines - Ubuntu 21.10 and Pop OS 21.10, I have Expresso on both of them and I am getting the same problem - the state is not persisted between sessions.

If I have Expresso enabled (Auto suspend and screensaver enabled) when I shut my Linux machine down it doesn't stay on when I start back up again. I never had this problem before with Expresso.

What has gone wrong?

On Gnome 42 (Debian Sid) not even work between the lock/unlock screen

a work around is to start Expresso when another app starts (like a mail client)

Restore state across boot has fixed in v7 of Espresso available on extensions.gnome.org.

Separate from maintaining the state across reboots, Espresso still has a conflict that causes it to be disabled when using the Super+L key combination or the Lock menu item to enact the Gnome screen lock. I will continue to look into the screen lock issue.
