Plipbox has stopped working

Hi, I have a Plipbox Deluxe that I've owned for a few years. Recently it seems to have stopped working on my Amiga 1000 so I thought I'd try to get it working with a fresh OS3.2 install on my Denise (A500+) with a Pistorm running Emu68. I have not been successful.

Here's what I've done:

  • Fresh install of 3.2
  • Copied plipbox.device 68040 version to devs:networks
  • Amitcp-3.0b2 install, following instructions here: https://megaburken.net/~patrik/AmiTCP_Install/ and using plipbox.device as the network device plipbox0
  • Rebooted, everything appears to load properly but pings to my router are not coming back

I plugged the serial port into my laptop, set mode 4, and ran dev_test 040 version on the Amiga. The menu for plipbox comes up fine in Putty:

cnt bytes err drop rate
0000 00000000 0000 0000 0000.00 KB/s rx plipbox
0000 00000000 0000 0000 0000.00 KB/s tx
0073 000032E6 0000 0000 0449.87 KB/s rx pio
0000 00000000 0000 0000 0000.00 KB/s tx
000933.9018 pio: exit
000933.9058 [BRIDGE] off
000933.9103 [PB_TEST] on

... but pressing "p" in mode 4 does nothing on the Amiga, it continues to say "Waiting for incoming packets..."

Mode 1 looks like this, not sure if it's normal or not:

000846.7008 pio: init: enc28j60: ok! mac=00:80:10:A1:B1:C1 flags=04 rev=07
000846.8626 FIRST INCOMING!
000846.8679 OFFLINE DROP: 003C
000847.6146 OFFLINE DROP: 015C
000847.9860 OFFLINE DROP: 004D
000848.8254 OFFLINE DROP: 003F
000848.8312 OFFLINE DROP: 003F
... etc...

One additional item, as I'm pinging on the Amiga, I get this on the plipbox:

000081.0170 [MAGIC] request
000082.0318 [MAGIC] request
000083.0432 [MAGIC] request

So there must be some kind of communication going on...

I have also tried:

  • NOBURST mode
  • Reflashing with AVRDUDE
  • Going back to the A1000 and checking all the configuration to make sure it matches what I've done here

I'm at a bit of a loss here. Any suggestions on what I might be missing?

Thanks!
