As described in #1069, it seems that is problem happens only on kde and it disappears by itself at some point. I think it could be some ongoing update of Qt/KDE that causes the issue. Could you please:

  • update to 2021.07 (maybe from flathub)
  • check if the issue persists?

Updated to 2021.07 from flathub. Same issue persists.

Ok, thanks. Are you using a 4k hidpi monitor? In that case, could you check if the issue persists also when setting a full hd resolution? Another info: could you check whether you're running x11 or wayland?

Hi I'm using X11 with a FHD resolution (1920x1080). I found that I had set 150% screen scaling in kde config. When I set 100% scaling Meshlab view is ok:

100% scaling: image

So, it seems that the screen scaling is the problem. Sadly, I had to revert to 150% scaling since I can't work with 100%. I have to do a lot of visual effort.

Thanks for the help.

Kind regards,

Ale

Thanks! This info will definitely help to solve the issue!! I hope to find some time and do some tests soon!

I have the same issue, maybe ignoring KDE global scaling in flatpak can solve the problem

I don't know, it seems not an issue strictly related with flatpak (same behavior goes with the appimage). I think that the cause may be the old deprecated QGLWidget classes, that we are trying to replace. I would wait until we completed the switch to Qt6 to check if the issue persists. It won't be done for the next release (which will be released in a few days), but I hope it will be in the next one.

Hi, I'm also facing the same issue with KDE and Meshlab (latest version 2022.02). Do you have any updates on this issue?

Update: I have a dual GPU configuration in my Laptop (AMD and Nvidia GPU). When using Nvidia performance mode (i.e. only using the Nvidia GPU), I am having this issue. When switching to Nvidia On-Demand mode (i.e. dynamically changing between Nvidia and AMD GPU), I am not having this issue! So it also has to be related somehow with the Nvidia driver.

Me too. But my laptop is using Intel and NVIDIA GPU. I'm having this issue in both two mode. Running env QT_SCREEN_SCALE_FACTORS=1 meshlab from the terminal can workaround this, which however is more trouble.

By the way, I set my screen 150% scaled with 141 font DPI, since I can't see what's on the 1920x1080, 15.6 inch screen clearly without doing this. So I think this is a issue related to MeshLab's HiDPI support.

AMD RX570 here, same problem happens under KDE with 150% DPI scaling.
