Get ffmpeg version

I've been looking at the samples and the code, but I'm not seeing this and may be overlooking it. Is there a way to get the version information from ffmpeg.exe? I'd like to capture that in our application's debug logs to give better understanding about what version of ffmpeg people reporting problems are using.
