@pnh10 Please provide a link for this "basic viewer template" you are referring to.

From what I can tell, that temp!ate has the same tools (widgets) as are found in CMV. Recent additions to CMV allow for use of webmaps.

The only thing that looks markedly different is the template has a toolbar with icons for the tools. I know some folks have used a toolbar with CMV but I am not aware of any that are publicly available for use in your project. Having said that, @roemhildtg and I have been working on a mobile-friendly sidebar based on this one by @DavidSpriggs using dojo that operates much like this one. That is a lttle different approach than the template provides though similar.
