Enhancement Request - Incorporate AGO Map Notes concept

Open friendde opened this issue 9 years ago • 1 comments

See this link for Map Notes details http://solutions.arcgis.com/utilities/gas/help/map-notes/ It has ability to add attachments and text.

Sample app here http://www.arcgis.com/apps/Viewer/index.html?appid=201bf6a1f16444f4a0ff88983f2a0b66

Choose Edit button under "Map Notes" title bar. A new menu appears on upper right. Select a feature to add to map. When finished drawing polygon, the option to add attachments and text becomes available.

We don't use AGO at my workplace as we have invested in ArcGIS Server. But for those that use AGO you can try this template starting here http://solutions.arcgis.com/utilities/gas/help/map-notes/get-started/

I will add this to my own wish list of items to pursue, just tossing it out there for feedback...

I've been meaning to post about something related so thanks @friendde for posting this idea. This is perhaps not exactly what you are looking for but a pointer to similar functionality.

There is a "Notify" widget here that does red-lining and looks like it could be pretty easily integrated as a cmv widget.

Here is the back-end service that receives the e-mail from the above widget.

And I think this is the back-end "viewer" for the red-lines.

Utah's Automated Geographic Reference Center (agrc) has a number of active repos that might be of interest to CMV devs with additional widgets such as the one I noted above for their internal widgets as well as this one for other agrc widgets.

NOTE: I have not worked with any of these widgets or services. My comments above are based on quickly perusing the code in their repos and see potential use-cases within cmv. I hope it helps @friendde and/or others. If you incorporate any of this with your cmv apps, please share your experience.
