Welder Explosions can destroy guns at large and extremely frustrating ranges

Description of the bug
Welder Tank explosions can destroy guns at the range which they stun, which I think is about 4-5 tiles. At this range, the explosion does no damage, and has a very weak stun of 1-2 seconds. However, it can completely destroy guns from your very hands, which you use to shoot them. This is extraordinarily frustrating.
What's the difference with what should have happened?
Multiple solutions:
- Weak explosions should not destroy guns at all. It should be limited to SADAR / OB / Heavy CAS / Mortar. Not welder tanks.
- Item destruction range should be limited.
- Welder tanks should (could, im not the one that balances) have weaker explosions.
How do we reproduce this bug?
- shoot a welder tank at a rather large range (5 tiles)
- see that it can destroy your gun from your hands even without doing any damage to you at all
- be deeply frustrated

Needs reproducing, though I'll add it may relate to the remaining "health" of the gun
can you please elaborate further? what is the health of a gun? I never knew this was a thing
