Look at this project, which provides instructions and a toolkit for communicating with your device. Check the status, I'd like to know if it passes partial or only full temperature...

I think this is a good idea as well, since there are natural limitations to the broadcast discovery that gree devices use. I however I am unlikely to develop this...
