companion app
not sure how to get that to work pls help
I too just encountered this problem this morning.
Holy cow you have a lot more tabs than I do
That's odd....I didn't notice until you said something. I'm curious as to what the difference is. As far as I know I've got the most recent EDDI version running.
After booting up EDDI and re-inputting my password on the 'Companion App' tab (and authenticating with the code that Frontier emailed me), my Companion App is now connected once again. Give it a shot, perhaps it will work for you too.
downloaded new eddi 2 still couldnt get that to work. but no voices. VA recognizes the commands but no sound. also for some reasom i cant reopen eddi?
I don't use VA, so I have zero experience with how the two programs interface. The Frontier Forum for EDDI is pretty long, but there is quite a few posts from people working out the details of getting EDDI and VA working together.
@SmithNuggets Luckfish3 is running the latest beta. You can enable beta updates via the EDDI app, and doing so may resolve the issue.
If that fails then you may have a corrupted file. Close EDDI (and VoiceAttack as applicable), then open %APPDATA%/EDDI and delete the "credentials.json" file. Restart EDDI and refill your credentials.
@Tkael On the EDDI 'Home' tab, the box for 'Access beta versions of EDDI' is unchecked. In the lower right hand corner it says it's version 2.2.3.
I can not open the Eddi app. I've removed it 3 times and retired, each time has been the same issue companion app tab has that issue. Then after closed can't reaccess it
@Luckfish3 Huh. I suppose you're right. You don't have the "Material monitor" tab. The same advice still applies.
@SmithNuggets If the prior advice doesn't work, I suggest you delete the entire folder at %APPDATA%/EDDI then reinstall. That should give you a clean install.
Ok I will try that when I get home. How is the compatibility with a HCS voice pack in voiceattack?
ok i deleted that credentials.json was able to open configuration. same thing with the companion now the netlog monitor couldnt find the logs, i put the directory in hi obtain and nothing
It's good, but there is overlap. You'll need to disable responses from one or the other for some events or they'll be talking over one another.
Ok how do I get the companion app to work
Same issue here (v2.2.3)
I've tried reinstalling, rebooting, ticking "Access beta versions of EDDI", running as admin, and deleting the credentials.json. Still can't get a response.
At least I'm not the only one, but what the heck is going on
Got a prompt, today, to update to the latest beta. Hasn't helped any though.
Started working tonight (v2.3.0-b8) I didn't change any settings, the verification came through to my spam folder after a minute or so.
Now I'm confused...I'm seeing places where it states that the latest version of EDDI is 2.3.0, yet the link I download and install says it's 2.2.3.
@Luckfish3 - I ticked the box on the main tab that says "Access the beta versions of EDDI" (hence the -b8 part) the other day while following suggestions in the other issue threads. The beta is for 2.3, while the release is 2.2.3.
I don't know if that contributed to it now working for me, or not. I didn't do anything new, or change anything, today. I just noticed a verification email in my Spam folder. So I started EDDI, went to the API tab, clicked reset, and re-entered my credentials. Minute, or so, later the verification came through (again, to my Spam folder).
I just updated to the beta, and things are working smoothly for me. I had previously had problems with the script I was using to report fuel levels after jumping always listing "zero" fuel, and now it works correctly, although I didn't change anything except upgrade to the beta.
