REPETATIVE GALNET READINGS

I am repetitively being read Galnet news, it announces there are 15 news items and goes through it all. Then approx 1hr later it starts again and the only way to stop it is to close VA to stop it but it starts up again.

I know one workaround is to untick Galnet box in EDDI but it restarts after reticking (also rebooted pc just to appease my OCD ;) lol, my point tho is, surely once all read it should dismiss the articles and not repeat. Appreciate any feedback and I apoligise if this has already been addressed I could not find past articles relating to it.

Thanks also for an excellent resource it has added much to my gameplay in conjunction with VA.

It sounds like there is some issue with writing to your %APPDATA%\EDDI directory, where it stores the galnetmonitor.json file. This file keeps track of the items that have already been read.

Please check that this directory is writable, and if there is currently a galnetmonitor.json file present remove it and see if that helps.

I've been experiencing the same issue. The directly certainly is writeable. I've tried deleting the noted file, but I still regularly am getting updates with "14 new galnet articles have been published".

When I hear (almost) the same 14 updates daily, it starts to drive me a little nutty... ;-)
