EDDP Monitor not working

Open mikelimtw opened this issue 8 years ago • 6 comments

Hi Cmdr McDonald,

I tried to follow the other thread for the EDDP monitor but truthfully I can't make heads or tails of it. As far as I can tell, my EDDP monitor has not worked at all since installing 2.2.1. I'm really at a loss how to get it working.

I've written some documentation for the EDDP monitor at https://github.com/cmdrmcdonald/EliteDangerousDataProvider/wiki/EDDP-Monitor - please let me know if the information here solves your problem.

Hi CmdrMcDonald,

I have just added port forwarding in my router for EDDP. Let's see if that will get it working. I will let you know. From the FAQ I understand that there are now two speech responders which activate depending on system state or faction state changes. Are there any variables exposed that can be used when either of these two events occurs?

Also is there an easier way to track system or faction changes other than for the controlling faction? For example, I set up a watch to let me know of wars or civil wars occurring within 800 LY of my location. But right now I would only be notified when the controlling faction in that system is at war/civil war, as opposed to other non-controlling minor factions. It seems to me that the EDDP monitor would need to take into account all factions for these watches to be truly useful.

You can find information on the variables available for any event by editing the event and hitting the 'Variables' button - the event-specific variables will be at the end of the displayed page.

At current EDDP only works with the controlling faction for the system because that's the only information available. Elite 2.3 will provide more information so there is the possibility to expand this in future to non-controlling factions.

Thanks for clarifying. However, I was looking for any new EDDI variables made available to VoiceAttack. I've not looked into CODDLE programming for the EDDI scripts yet and wouldn't know where to start. :P

VoiceAttack variable information for the events is available at https://github.com/cmdrmcdonald/EliteDangerousDataProvider/wiki/System-state-changed-event and https://github.com/cmdrmcdonald/EliteDangerousDataProvider/wiki/System-faction-changed-event

Update. The below problem seems to have been resolved but, I'm getting double voicing like an echo. Tends to be on market updates. Anyone have any ideas on resolving this? Thanks. I have just installed all the programs after a catastrophic computer failure and I'm down to this fantastic app but, it's telling me "The monitor is not running, make sure it's not network shared or self shared". I am running the latest (beta) VA. What am I doing wrong? There are no shares on the program that I have been able to find. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. o7
