Aspect ratio not obeyed when it does not match display size
First, the Advanced button in the toolbar is dim. Is there a way to enable it, or is it not active yet?
Second, I have several video files downloaded from my TiVo S2. They're 480_480 with an embedded aspect ratio specification of 4:3. When I convert them with VisualHub & Optimize for: Apple TV, I get appropriately rectangular content: 720_540(?), but VideoMonkey gives me 720*720 for Apple TV (or 480 if I limit output to input).
- VM should honor the specified aspect ratio. This probably means expanding out the horizontal pixels by 1/3 to 640, to avoid synthesizing pointless pixels.
- VM should let the user specify a particular resolution, presumably under Advanced.
Thanks for VideoMonkey!
What version are you using? 0.9 does not have an Advanced Button. It replaces it with a menu item in the Convert To menu. There it states that it is not yet implemented. Hopefully soon...
For the other issue, it would be really useful for me to have a sample of that video that is just a few seconds long. I currently don't have any non-square movies for testing. If you could email or post one somewhere I'd be very grateful
