Tab gets highlighted as having activity on XHR requests

I don't know if this is actually an issue with this addon or the specific webapp I'm having trouble with, but since I've narrowed it down to the combination of Mattermost + this addon, I'm going to open an issue here too. See Mattermost issue 8026 for the full story, but the tl;dr is that when using this addon, the Firefox tab for Mattermost instances lights up as having activity every time the app does an XHR poll request.

Hi,

I also noticed this coming from mattermost. As I used the plugin before I started using mattermost I haven’t thought it could be coming from the plugin.

I’ll look into that to see where the conflict might come.
