Will it be possible, to place cutting tool at start and finish of desired thread? As you reach the specified position of end, you retract the tool, press a button, tool returns to cutting origin, advance cutting tool, and press to cut. Since the ELS, checks position of spindle, could it be done in reverse? You would have to do this with the split nuts always engaged. Would it be suitable? With an extra stepper on cross ways, it could be automated.
