Is Email validation to strong?

We use a very strong Email validation in the Email value object, but this strong validation could cause problems if a commit has an non valid email address.

Has the strong email validation caused problems in the meantime? If necessary, we can use the email validation regex from the CAS. If no problems have ever occurred here, I suggest closing the issue.
