Wikidata Query for ASN to Twitter account match + data license clarification
https://w.wiki/Pbm is a link to a simple query for ASN and associated Twitter handles in Wikidata.
Wikidata item values are public domain (CC0) so could be included and checked against. Possible source to pair more ASN and Twitter. Ideally a place to contribute back if new pairs are identified.
A few questions on Twitter accounts:
- Which twitter account for an ASN should be included, larger companies may have many handles. This could be due to multiple languages or multiple divisions of the named entity.
What is the preferred approach to listing multiple Twitter handles?
- adding an additional column for multiple language Twitter presence ie deutschetelekom and telekom_group? Depending on the purpose of the Twitter handle list it would make sense to include all known and possibly marking default account.
- The repository license is clearly stated as MIT, but since there also is data collected what is the license on this data? Clearly indicating the data's license a creative commons license would encourage reuse. Ideally CC0 for clear data license match to import to Wikidata.
I like this idea. Thank you! For which Twitter, we don't really have a defined approach, usually the account that could answer/give more info. Looks like it was already mentioned in #191. I don't see an easy solution for the language that would not complicate too much the logic of picking an ASN. The user can still add before posting the tweet, in that case, no handle preset may be better. For the license, it will cover this repo. I believe the modifications fit also in this subject. I will ask our legal team.
