I think this is on the right track, but more needs to be done. it would be nice there was something describing what changes and why. Ideally the handling of ECDH and KEMS would be as unified as possible, but there are limits.

I agree. Let's look at this as the first implementation (poc) of draft 00 or pre-draft. Things might get clearer once a first draft is around.
