Digital Programmer ideas/ request

Hello, love this module, it offers a clear visual for modulations. If I can, i ll propose you 2 things:

  • adding the possibility of midi learn with midi map on the faders ?, (the "must" could be to have a midi out feedback when changing presets for midi controllers who support it (mini x-touch for ex)
  • adding a fade between banks ?

what do you think ? ;-)

Hi @nay-seven,

Let me see what I can do!

  • Fading might be more difficult. Someone on the VCV Rack forums requested this as well, so I'll look into it.,
  • For midi learn: One option is that I may be able to convert the sliders to act like all other VCV Rack controls, such as knobs. As a thought experiment, if I changed the sliders to standard VCV Rack knobs, would that solve the midi-learn / midi-map issue for you?

Hello, Thanks for your fast answer !

  • ok for the fading
  • about the midi learn , would be a new module or a transformation of this one ? i must admit i like the look and name possibility of this one ;-) and the faders are, in my opinion, easier to read quickly, you can see at a glance the value levels ? maybe find inspiration in the Vca fader from vcv ?

Thanks! I intend to keep the faders looking the same, but may convert them in to "proper" VCV widgets, which may inherit some of the MIDI capabilities that you're looking for.

Have you played with the Poly CV input? I might help do what you want. You could route the output of a MIDI-to-CV converter into the Poly CV input of the Digital Programmer, which will add the voltage to the sliders. Just a thought! I'm researching right now to see if it's possible for me to add native MIDI support to the Digital Programmer. I'll keep you posted.

About the poly input, not exactly what i'm looking for, but concept is interesting to experiment, in this case the faders of your module act as a range limiter, and with different banks..could be fun, thanks for the tip ;-)
