Maincloud database stuck

Open leppid opened this issue 1 month ago • 4 comments

After pressing the ‘Pause real-time updates’ button several times, the database stopped responding altogether. It did not work in the app or on the admin page. The only solution was to delete it and create a new one. Question: why does Maincloud not have the ability to create backups or restart the server?

Hello! I have a few questions to try to figure out what is going on here:

  1. Before you pressed the "pause real-time updates" button did you happen to publish or do anything to your database?
  2. When you say you had to delete it and create a new one do you mean you published with --delete-data or did you use spacetime delete <database-name> and then spacetime publish <database-name>?

Hello, jdetter! Thank you for reply!

  1. No, I didn't. The last publish was a day ago, as far as I remember. But before that I tried to open some of my tables on admin panel that not loading for some reason.
  2. Yes, I used spacetime delete and spacetime publish. In addition, spacetime publish did not work. It stucks on the message Publishing module... until I deleted the database.

Hi, thanks for answering, I am trying to look into this.

Got it. Just to clarify — did you try accessing the database after the last publish? I’m trying to figure out whether it’s been stuck since a publish on previous day and you noticed it later, or if it got stuck when you actually pressed 'Pause real-time updates’ button?

Hello, Shubham8287!

This happened after I clicked the ‘Pause real-time updates’ button (5-6 times), that's for sure! Because a few minutes before that, I was playing the game on this database and everything was working fine.
