I'd love to fix this, but it actually is a shortcoming of the photos feed in Micro.blog:

I think it is on @manton's radar, but I have no idea if its a planned enhancement.

I thought this was a design problem at first in how stories are kept track of, but actually I think it's just a bug. Looking over the code it is supposed to work already.
