Font size and image layout are different in HTML message printing
@cleidigh All.
PrintingTools NG 2.0.7-b12. OS: Windows 10 Pro 21H2 64bit Thunderbird 91.6.1 64bit
When printing HTML messages, there are the following differences between Thunderbird itself and PTNG 2.0.7-b12.
- Font size is different
- Image layout is different
A screenshot is attached.
I am not sure which is more correct for printing HTML messages, Thunderbird itself or PTNG 2.0.7-b12. If you prioritize the release of version 2.0.7, you may want to put this issue on hold or pend.
@kiki-ja
@reinerblock
I just saw what you did a preview with no hdr background color this must be a printer setting issue @cleidigh
@reinerblock @kiki-ja I want to try to get this addressed. Below are my outputs of the two test emails. I believe the prints are "correct". My setup:
- b15
- windows 10
- Microsoft PDF printer
- letter size
So as @reinerblock observed print settings can get in the way One note, I did see that you have to enable remote content and once that is sticky the output was good
Let's see if we can get the same results on these and then look at the other issues @cleidigh
@cleidigh @reinerblock All
PrintingTools NG 2.0.7-b15 Thunderbird 91.6.1 64bit Windows 10 Pro 21H2 64bit Microsoft Print to PDF Letter size
The font size was unchanged. The layout was slightly improved.
I'll be happy if it's the same as normal printing in Thunderbird. And I hope @reinerblock's problem can be solved.
@kiki-ja
@reinerblock @kiki-ja I want to make some effort on this to see if we can fix for 2.0.7 I will try to post a game plan today. @reinerblock can you post here the image issue with reproduction detail I will look at that as well. if you can use the initialsource and finaloutput debug options and post the debug output here as well. Also try the passthrough option (separate from the other options) as that removes any processing but still uses the ptng engine interface
@cleidigh
@reinerblock I think your image issue may lie with the driver did you try the MS pdf? @cleidigh
I now tried different default printer. With my old Canon Pixma i7250 the result is the following.
Then I tried the same with my HP OfficeJet Mobile 250, but I got no preview. :(
So, it appears that you're right @cleidigh and the problem is the original printer driver.
