[Feature Request] Add copy and paste functions for input areas

Open kiki-ja opened this issue 1 year ago • 6 comments

@cleidigh

I would like to request the addition of a copy and paste function for the PTNG input areas.

When I want to enter custom date/time etc. while referring to the help, I have to manually enter the information each time because I cannot copy and paste. It would be helpful to be able to copy and paste.

Please consider this.

@kiki-ja please add your operating environment

copy and paste is working for me, with ptng v2.2.0-b26, tb 102.8.0 (64bit) just tested

copy from help/copy from input areas - paste to input areas

copy from help: keyboard or right mouse click menu copy from input areas: keyboard is working, no right mouse click menu

I will check this out. I can imagine right click not working, but Control -V should. @cleidigh

@kiki-ja I just used the keyboard to highlight the debug options, copy with Control -C then paste into the date with Control -V Right click does not work. @cleidigh

PTNG 2.2.0-b28 Thunderbird 102.8.0 64bit + Default Theme (System theme auto) Windows 10 Pro 22H2 64bit

Supplemental information.

Copy(Ctrl + C) and paste(Ctrl + V) on the keyboard work. However, copying and pasting by right-clicking with the mouse does not. That is, the context menu does not work.

The request is to be able to copy and paste with either the keyboard or mouse.

@kiki-ja I don't know all the things to do this given the input does not do this natively. I just know it's not trivial. Right now I really can't add that. Perhaps in a future release. @cleidigh

@cleidigh

Perhaps in a future release.

So please. For the time being, I can work around it with keyboard operation.
