Format bump notification
Would it be possible to list in the release notes when a format bump is necessary? This would be helpful coming from a non-clearlinux use case. I can't easily tell for example, if there is a bump between 5.4.0 and 5.5.0 for the iterative manifest changes.
A format bump is not something determined by mixer, but rather by what your upstream is. Mixer can generate output for different formats.

@rchiossi I'm confused. Can't I have an extra format bump in my mix independently of what upstream is doing?
You can, but that is unrelated to his question. Format bumps are never tied to mixer versions. You would need a bump either if the upstream your mix is based of had a bump or if your mix is the upstream to someone else and you decide that your own mix needs a bump (e.g. if you deleted a bundle).
You are right. Got it! I was confused by something else.
Are there typical changes that require a format bump? Deleting a bundle was one example mentioned but can someone provide a list of the common changes I need to consider? Can an update to mixer-tools or swupd-client trigger a bump to be needed?
