KDE plasma systemtray crashes
Plasma shell crashes with panels containing system tray
Installed version: 43660
I ran a plasmashell -replace -n to debug
output:
--------> load applet: "org.kde.plasma.systemtray" relpath: "plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.plasma.systemtray"
.. pathes: QList("/usr/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.plasma.systemtray")
kf.coreaddons: "Could not load plugin from /usr/lib64/qt6/plugins/plasma/applets/org.kde.plasma.systemtray.so: Cannot load library /usr/lib64/qt6/plugins/plasma/applets/org.kde.plasma.systemtray.so: /usr/lib64/qt6/plugins/plasma/applets/org.kde.plasma.systemtray.so: undefined symbol: _ZN6Plasma11Containment30containmentDisplayHintsChangedE6QFlagsINS_5Types22ContainmentDisplayHintEE"
This issue also occurs with a newly created user.
Same problem. I downgrade to 43630 for now.
I have the same issue and already rolled back to 43580. Has anyone tried a repair via swupd repair --force --picky first?
I forgot to try that before rolling back.
Second question: Has anyone tried the newest version 43720? Unfortunately the download speed of my connection is very slow so would like to avoid another rollback...
It appears not everything is updated to plasma 6.4 causing the conflict
/usr/lib64/qt6/plugins/plasma/applets/org.kde.plasma.systemtray.so is not updated and requires symbol Plasma::Containment::containmentDisplayHintsChanged(QFlags<Plasma::Types::ContainmentDisplayHint>) in /usr/lib64/libPlasma.so , which is not present after upgrades to 6.4.0.
In 43630:
$ nm -U /usr/lib64/libPlasma.so | grep -F containmentDisplayHintsChanged
0000000000037b60 T _ZN6Plasma11Containment30containmentDisplayHintsChangedE6QFlagsINS_5Types22ContainmentDisplayHintEE
000000000002abe0 T _ZN6Plasma6Applet30containmentDisplayHintsChangedE6QFlagsINS_5Types22ContainmentDisplayHintEE
In 43720:
$ nm -U /usr/lib64/libPlasma.so | grep -F containmentDisplayHintsChanged
0000000000028a90 T _ZN6Plasma6Applet30containmentDisplayHintsChangedE6QFlagsINS_5Types22ContainmentDisplayHintEE
Still crashing on 43760
Does not work on the latest 43790 either (sudo swupd update --version 43790 -F staging).
