Description: ligthweight performant SSL library
Is this to support something specific?
no, this is to support running my C application that i found out couldn't be compiled for the lack of WolfSSL on clearlinux. I don't see why you don't support WolfSSL when it is completely open source and even lighter and faster* than OpenSSL
I don't see why you don't support WolfSSL
Because Clear Linux is not targeted at resource-constrained systems, it's not a drop-in replacement for OpenSSL, the commercial licensing clause needs some review, and nobody's asked for it for something specific until now.
Can you give us an idea what the application is?
as a general rule, we only add security sensitive libraries (like crypto stuff) if we understand what the usage is (e.g. is it worth it)
that is why we are asking for the use case -- ideally one we can ship in the OS itself.

the usage is deploying my high frequency trading bot in the fastest possible environvment. I came to the conclusion that a clearlinux docker container would've been the best.
Watch for https://github.com/clearlinux/clr-bundles/commit/0da618249f55492758512baac5d6b1b62ca39ab1 to appear. You'll need to add the devpkg-wolfssl bundle once it's available.
Are you using an open source bot?
no open source bot. I'm developing my own from scratch in C
