6.12.4-1518 failed to boot on J4105

Open raggi opened this issue 1 year ago • 5 comments

Clear-linux-native-6.12.4-1518 failed to boot for me today on a Intel(R) Celeron(R) J4105 CPU @ 1.50GHz.

The only log messages on screen when it locks up are:

x86/cpu: SGX disabled or unsupported by BIOS. sched_ext: Failed to register kfunc sets (-22)

Then it just appears to halt booting.

Switching to Clear-linux-native-6.11.6-1477 boots fine.

Is there anything in log if you remove quiet from the kernel commandline?

I have a notebook with Celeron N3350 CPU and get same error after update. Optional is default.

Currently, I reinstall with LTS kernel and it's fine.

See also #3214.

We found an issue introduced in the 6.12 kernel that prevents booting from eMMC, in case that's what you're booting from here, although I can't be certain it's the problem in your case, based on the logs. See discussion in our forum

Yes, it was eMMc, so likely a dup!
