What reasoning of building kernel without many modules Maybe we need to build a lot of drivers as a module

I have new server, and i needed mpi3mr driver

You could use mixer to customize the modules for the kernel, see

I'm enabling this right now

I don't know why it wasnt enabled (and if it fails to compile or something like that I'll update)

as a general policy we enable all relevant x86 drivers (so not some of the ARM embedded drivers etc)
