I have a problem I can't get Putty into my virtual machine the client says all the time Keyboard-interactive authentication prompts from server: | Password: End of keyboard-interactive prompts from server Access denied Keyboard-interactive authentication prompts from server: | Password: under SSH I have the one chop away still comes the rejection Can someone help me?

You can set KbdInteractiveAuthentication to true in sshd.conf. The default is to take the value of ChallengeResponseAuthentication.

Thank you for replying, i solved it with changing /etc/pam.d/ssh to default settings so far ,and it works ,idk when it was modified by somehow and why...

I had the same issue however accessing via the application Tera Term established a connection.

In Clear Linux we use a pretty modern SSH server, which deprecates by default a set of insecure crypto. If your putty is too old, the common set of crypto primitives might be empty.

Note that older putty also have known security issues so upgrading so the current one is generally strongly recommended
