Have mixer behaviour changed in such a way that it would not use garbage from previous runs on subsequent builds?

When we moved from a model of providing an additional repo to mixer (repo-add) to rely again on mixer creating the repo, we found several problems of consuming content from previous builds.

So, unless the comments of commit 879bae2e were addressed by mixer, we can't merge this yet.
